The main question asked in the online story and on the newscast was: “Can Zimmerman Get a Fair Trial?”  My comments were that it would be hard to find anyone that had not heard about the case, but that the real question was whether the potential jurors could set aside what they had heard, listen to the evidence, and follow the law as instructed to them by the judge.  I was also asked about what affirmative defenses might be available and whether Mr. Zimmerman would have to testify on his own behalf.

The best advice is to plan ahead and have a sober driver if you are out this weekend.

If you are accused of drunk driving, you need experienced counsel to begin defending you right away.  Although you may have a number of days in which to challenge the suspension or revocation of your driving privileges, you should not wait until the last minute to file.  If you wait too long, you may either miss the deadline to file or have a lapse in your temporary driving privileges.  Having a new charge for driving while suspended or revoked can certainly complicate the defense of your DUI case.
